Comau builds car body welding line for Jeep factory in Brazil

Comau has completed the construction of a car body welding line for the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles factory in Goiana, Pernambuco, Brazil, where the Jeep® Renegade® is produced.

The highly complex project, which Comau has worked on since its inception in 2010, comprises 640 robots. Nicknamed the Butterfly for the butterfly shape of one of the main line processes, the project is based on ComauFlex, a system that uses suspended robots within the assembly line. This structure helps optimize space usage, resulting in a compact line.
