FANUC named top global innovator by Thomson Reuters

FANUC Corp., a manufacturer of CNC systems, robots, and machine tools in Japan, has been named by Thomson Reuters, New York, as a 2011 Top 100 Global Innovator℠.

The program evaluates innovation performance of companies that invent on a significant scale, work on developments that are acknowledged as innovative by others worldwide, and produce inventions that are protected globally for their importance.

The methodology is based on four principle criteria: patent approval success rate, global reach of patent portfolio, patent influence in literature citations, and overall patent volume.
