Bosch Rexroth opens new facility

Bosch Rexroth Corp., Hoffman Estates, Ill., recently opened a new facility, Tech Center East, in Rochester Hills, Mich.

Tech Center East is involved in developing hydraulic hybrid systems that are being tested to conserve energy and reduce the environmental impact of vehicles. The facility also plays a role in the development of Bosch Rexroth's hydraulic regenerative braking system and automation products for solar applications. It focuses on advanced hydraulics applications such as hydraulic hybrid vehicle technology, compact construction machinery, hybrid hydraulic drives, alternative energy, and offshore marine.

The facility, which employs 120 workers, will bring together technical personnel from the company's hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives, and linear motion and assembly technologies groups.

Bosch Rexroth manufactures drive and control technologies, from mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics to electronics and associated service.
