EVS Metal acquires power press brake with automation

Metal fabrication, machining, and finishing shop EVS Metal Inc. has added an Amada EG 6013 power press brake with automation to its Riverdale, N.J., manufacturing facility. The machine uses a 6-axis robot that automatically sets itself up with the correct tools to create the required bends, even in small, complex parts, nearly eliminating the need for human operators.

The machine features the world’s first dual servo-electric drive, says the company, allowing processing of parts with both high speed and high precision. A thickness detection system (TDS) self-regulates depth positioning by reading the variance in material thickness. The large open height and high-rigidity TDS frame allow for long machine strokes during materials processing.
