TRUMPF takes new direction in Taiwan

May 12, 2009

The TRUMPF Group, Ditzingen, Germany, is redesigning its business in Taiwan. In addition to marketing machine tools and lasers, the technology company is expanding the service and maintenance efforts in its electronics division, having increased the number of service employees from two to 10.

The company also is ceasing production of medium-sized press brakes, the TruBend 3000 series, in Taiwan for cost reasons. However, the company will continue to produce all its press brakes in Pasching, Austria. The production freeze in Taiwan will result in a loss of 20 of the 75 jobs at the Tao-Yuan Shien facilities near Taipei.
