Bosch Rexroth AG names executive VP of engineering, manufacturing

Bosch Rexroth AG has named Reiner Leipold-Büttner as executive vice president for engineering and manufacturing at the company's Lohr, Germany, location.

In this newly created position, Büttner is responsible for manufacturing and product development, as well as the central functions of manufacturing technology and manufacturing process development, industrial property protection, quality management and methods, pollution control and environmental management, and technology and advance engineering.

Büttner began his career with the company in 1977 as a trainee at the Blaichach Works in Germany. After serving in various positions in the preproduction field, he transferred in 1982 to the Chassis Systems Management Group in Schwieberdingen, Germany.

In 1984 Büttner returned to Blaichach as departmental director for tools and special mechanical engineering. In 1990 he assumed responsibility for preproduction in Ansbach, Germany, and in 1992 he gained responsibility for the Nuremberg Works.

In 1993 Büttner was appointed technical works manager of the Eisenach Works and general manager of Robert Bosch Fahrzeugelektrik Eisenach GmbH. In 1996 he was appointed to the board of Chassis Systems, where he was responsible for antilock braking systems (ABS) and brake products.

In 2000 Büttner joined the Gasoline Systems Management Group where he was responsible for manufacturing, quality assurance, and various product areas.
