Fives Bronx, the provider of Bronx Taylor-Wilson and Abbey Intl. equipment, in North Canton, Ohio, has shipped a 6CR9 six-roll pipe straightening machine and a 20,000-PSI hydrostatic pipe tester to a North American steel producer. The steelmaker will use the machines in its production of OCTG grades J/K55, N80, L80, P110, P110EC, and Q125.
The straightening machine processes API-grade pipe and tube from 2.375 to 7.625 in. OD and up to 48 ft. long. It operates with a maximum temperature of 1,050 degrees F and a maximum yield strength of 140,000 PSI. The quick-opening feature is designed for plain and upset pipes.
The pipe testing machine handles pipe from 2.375 to 7.625 in. OD, both ends plain or upset, from 20 to 48 ft. long. Maximum length tolerance is ±3 ft. without resetting the machine. The machine processes at test pressures from 2,000 to 20,000 PSI, with a maximum end load of 592,661 lbs.
