Bunting increases college scholarship program

Bunting® Magnetics Co., Newton, Kan., has announced the 2010-2011 recipients of the Walter F. Bunting and June A. Bunting Memorial Scholarships. This year 18 scholarships were awarded, up from 12 in 2009. The scholarships, which are $440 each, are awarded to employees' college-age children for university or vocational training.
"We are a family-owned company and we want to support the aspirations of our employees' families," stated Robert J. Bunting Sr., president. "My parents, for whom these scholarships are named, were very close to their employees and valued their hard work and dedication."
The 2010-2011 Walter F. Bunting Scholarship winners are:
- Jordan D. Brown, Wichita State University (Wichita, KS)
- Travis J. Buller, Friends University (Wichita, KS)
- Steven J. Fishman, University of Kansas (Lawrence, KS)
- Cody R. Flashman, Ivy Tech Community College (Bloomington, IN)
- Derek S. Moore, Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, KS)
- Guy M. Moreland, Friends University (Wichita, KS)
- Dustin P. Rowe, University of Kansas (Lawrence, KS)
- Tyler J. Schmidt, Wichita Area Technical College (Wichita, KS)
- Benjamin R. Van Horn, Hutchinson Community College (Hutchinson, KS)

The 2010-2011 June A. Bunting Scholarship winners are:

This year's scholarship amount of $440 is a 10 percent increase from 2009. Since 2000 the company has awarded 87 scholarships totaling more than $36,000.
