Bystronic Inc. has officially broken ground for its new multimillion dollar North American headquarters based in Elgin, Illinois. The ground-breaking ceremony on Friday, January 21, was attended by local Elgin town officials, local press, as well as industry press. Bystronic is moving its North American headquarters from Hauppauge, N.Y., to Elgin, Ill., to provide a more central location in serving the North American market.
The new location at 300 Airport Road will be a 48,300-sq.-ft. build-to-suit building complete with a 10,000-sq.-ft. office, a 14,000-sq.-ft. showroom, and a 24,300-sq.-ft. spare parts and logistics area. The new building will be the marketing, sales and training headquarters for North America. A grand opening celebration is planned for October of 2011.
