AMT restructures engineering group, hires COO

Applied Manufacturing Technologies Inc. (AMT), Orion, Mich., has named Joseph Campbell as COO and has also announced the reorganization of its engineering group into new practice areas.

Campbell is responsible for engineering, sales, marketing, and technical operations. He has more than 25 years' experience in industrial automation and was previously employed at KUKA Robotics as director of strategic alliances.

The reorganization has created four new engineering practice areas designed to improve responsiveness to customer requests for engineering services and programs. New areas are Robot Programming; Digital Processing and Simulation; Design Services: Mechanical and Electrical; and Advanced Applications.
