Coe Press Equipment installs second coil line at Tri-Con Industries

Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, Mich., has commissioned a SpaceMaster compact coil line on an existing Komatsu 300-ton press at Tri-Con Industries, a division of TS Tech Co. in Lincoln, Neb.
This is the second Coe model CCL-S3-11024 SpaceMaster that the company has installed at Tri-Con Industries, a manufacturer of seats for motorcycles and ATVs and seat parts for automobiles. The lines combine unwinding, straightening, and feeding of coil stock in one piece of compact equipment. The arrangement provides programmable coil feeding with pilot release operation.
The lines can handle coils from 3 to 24 in. wide and 0.156 to 0.250 in. thick with 64-in. dia. and 11,000-lb. coil weight. With a roll speed of 160 FPM, these machines come with features for coil containment, hands-free threading, and accurate feeding of the coil strip, says the company. True pilot release functionality is provided by the pivoting feeder-straightener.
Both the coil reel and the feeder-straightener are driven by AC digital control servo drives and motors.
