Stripco installs new coil line

Stripco Inc., Mishawaka, Ind., has installed a Red Bud Industries EPS® (eco pickled surface) coil line. It can remove scale from hot-rolled black material up to 0.375 in. at 72 in. wide and coil weights up to 60,000 lbs.
The process uses a slurry blasting mixture of water and angular steel grit. Both the water and grit are recirculated for continuous reuse. The removed scale and depleted grit are filtered from the system for disposal.
