ESAB opens South Carolina manufacturing facility

July 10, 2012

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products, Florence, S.C., has opened a newly renovated manufacturing facility in Union County, S.C., creating 101 new jobs. The 260,000-sq.-ft. plant manufactures GMAW and SAW wires. Two new production lines for the company's AristoRod and copper-coated wires also will be there.

The company invested millions of dollars to refit the building, which was built originally in the 1970s. Improvements included new power distribution, new piping, and a complete fume collection system. The fire suppression infrastructure was upgraded, and the office has been remodeled and equipped with new furnishings. New lab equipment and new material handling equipment were installed, and the entire interior was painted.
