The Harris Products Group manufacturing facility in Gainesville, Ga., has earned a statewide environmental award for its efforts to reduce all types of waste and prevent water pollution.
The Georgia Association of Water Professionals has recognized the company with its Water Pollution Prevention/Waste Minimization Award for 2012 — the only company to receive the award in the state. The facility also earned an outstanding rating and a Certificate of Recognition for indirect wastewater physical/chemical pretreatment.
The facility manufactures outfits, tips, gas regulators, and manifold systems used in gas cutting, brazing, soldering, and welding, as well as gas distribution systems and specialty gas applications.
Harris operated for the 2012 calendar year with no water violations. A member of the GAWP Industrial Awards Subcommittee reviewed the company's water systems, as well as all waste and operations programs.
