Airgas names vice president–hardgoods

Airgas Inc. has appointed David E. Levin as vice president–hardgoods, with responsibility for product management of all welding/MRO hardgoods and safety products. Levin had been vice president–safety products since April 2003.
Levin manages a combined product management team that oversees supplier relationships and sales and marketing plans to support sales of hardgoods and safety products throughout all Airgas regional companies and distribution channels, including telesales and catalog channels. He also oversees the eBusiness Marketing efforts.
Levin joined the company in March 1996 with the acquisition of IPCO Safety (now part of Airgas Safety). During his tenure, he has served as director of operations and CFO at Airgas Safety from March 1996 to March 1997; president and COO, Airgas Safety from March 1997 to March 2002; and president and COO at Airgas Rutland Tool from March 2002 to May 2003.
Before joining Airgas, Levin joined IPCO Safety in March 1992 as controller. He was named CFO in March 1995 and became director of operations and CFO in October 1996 after the acquisition by Airgas.
Levin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in accounting at the University of Massachusetts–Amherst in May 1985 and was a certified public accountant from July 1985 through March 1992.
