Davi completes production of heaviest plate roll

Dallas-based Davi has manufactured and commissioned what it says is the heaviest four-roll machine ever built. The 13.12-ft. by 10-in. machine was dismantled and delivered to the customer via 17 trucks. It will be used for the production of heavy-duty vessels for the nuclear industry and offshore components.

The front and rear frames, as well as the rolls, are the heaviest part of the plate roll, made from high-tensile material. Each component weighs more than 80 tons.
