Hypertherm, a Hanover, N.H.-based manufacturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems, has issued its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) report, measuring 2015 progress on the company’s social and environmental goals.
The report, available at www.hypertherm.com/csr, shows that the company reached more than 7,000 students through its donation of time and money to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs.
In addition, employees donated more than 18,000 volunteer hours to nonprofit organizations in 15 countries. The Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors (HOPE) Foundation awarded 107 grants to support health and wellness, food and shelter, and education and the arts.
The company has reduced landfill waste from 211 tons in 2010 to 47 tons at the end of 2015. Its 2015 safety record was 1.9 incidents per 100 full-time associates, which Hypertherm says is below the industry average of 4.3. Other highlights from 2015 include the opening of a regional recycling center and the hosting of Hypertherm’s first Supplier Sustainability Summit to discuss shared challenges and best practices.
