ILSC 2005 seeks papers

The Laser Institute of America (LIA) has announced that it is seeking papers for the 7th biennial International Laser Safety Conference (ILSC®) 2005, to be held March 7-10, 2005, in Marina del Rey, Calif.

ILSC is a four-day international conference covering laser safety practice and hazard control. Technical sessions and workshops will address developments in regulatory, mandatory, and voluntary safety standards for laser products and laser use. The conference will be chaired by David Sliney of the U.S. Army CHPPM, APG in Maryland.

Specific areas to be addressed include worldwide safety standards; operational policies and practices of lasers; bioeffects; laser light shows and displays; nonbeam hazards; hazard and risk analysis; and training programs. The abstract deadline is Oct. 15, 2004. Papers can be submitted online.
