ISRI names environmental management director

The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) has named David L. Wagger as environmental management director.

Wagger's responsibilities include assisting members with environmental management issues and representing ISRI on environmental matters in various forums. He also will head the Recycling Industries' Operating Standard (RIOS) implementation.

Before joining the organization, Wagger managed the Mid-Atlantic By-Product Synergy Project at the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) and also conducted industrial-sector analyses for other CCAP projects. Previously he spent nine years at Signum Environmental Inc., providing technical and expert-witness services to insurance companies and their counsel on environmental matters.

Wagger has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, with a minor in political science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
