MSCI names vice president, education

The Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) has named Ann K. Zastrow as vice president, education. She succeeds Rose Manfredini, who now is the organization's vice president, member services and events.

Zastrow has worked in the metals and distribution industries in a variety of human resources functions. She was director of compensation for Alliant Exchange Inc., parent of Alliant Foodservice, and served as organization development manager, employee relations manager, training manager, a labor relations representative, and a human resources generalist for Inland Steel Industries and its Inland Steel Co., I/N Tek, and I/N Kote subsidiaries. She also served as Inland's investor and public relations manager, and was an employee relations fellow for the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). She most recently founded and operated Zastrow Consulting, a human resources consulting firm.

Zastrow holds a B.A. in humanities from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School. She is a former president and board member of the Chicago Abused Women Coalition, a private organization that seeks to end violence against women.

Manfredini has been with MSCI for four years after nearly two decades with the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). In her new position as vice president, member services and events, she is responsible for planning and coordinating the institute's conferences and meetings, and she will develop and improve its member database.
