Timken to increase seamless tubing prices

The Timken Corp. has announced price increases on mill shipments of seamless tubular steel products effective with shipments on Jan. 1, 2005, until further notice. Raw material surcharges will remain in effect.

The increases are:

• Hot rolled and cold drawn carbon tubing, +8 percent
• Hot rolled, annealed alloy, +12 percent
• Hot rolled, double thermal treated alloy, +12 percent

Exceptions to the above:

• All carbon tubing greater than 9 in. dia. and OD/wall ratios less than 6.5, +13 percent
• All alloy tubing greater than 9 in. dia. and OD/wall ratios less than 6.5, +18 percent
