EFD Induction receives order for two induction welding machines

Induction heating company EFD Induction, Madison Heights, Mich., has received an order for two of its Weldac solid-state induction welding machines from a North American roll forming company.

The machines, which will be used to weld profiles and beams, employ IGBTs that are nearly short-circuit-proof and feature continuous electronic load matching. Their diode rectifiers offer a high constant power factor of 0.95 at all power levels while also eliminating the need for reactive power compensation capacitors.
