FMA International announces launch of Green Manufacturer magazine
- July 29, 2009

- Shop Management
The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International, Inc., has announced the launch of Green Manufacturer magazine.
Beginning with the January/February 2010 issue, Green Manufacturerwill be a bimonthly magazine delivered to 100,000 subscribers. It will cover the process applications, products, and opportunities that discrete manufacturers need to know about in order to run an effective green operation.
"FMA believes that in today's business environment, tremendous pressure is on all areas of an organization—engineering, plant operations, facilities management, and top-level management—to understand and implement effective green or sustainable practices that improve the bottom line," said Edward Youdell, group publisher of FMA Communications, Inc. "Green Manufacturerwill deliver the guidance and practical applications that discrete manufacturers are looking for to implement in their green initiatives. We see our current subscribers growing impatient for a cohesive national manufacturing strategy, and believe that a green platform is the way to build and achieve that strategy."
"Environmental consciousness has evolved from a trend into a legitimate movement in manufacturing," said Kate Bachman, editor of Green Manufacturer. "Our goal is to become the information tool of choice for those who are responsible for driving the transition to ecosavvy manufacturing."
FMA Communications, Inc., the publishing affiliate of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association that will manage and produce Green Manufacturer, currently serves the metal forming and fabricating industry by publishing business-to-business magazines, e-newsletters, vendor directories, and Web sites.
Based in Rockford, Ill., FMA is a professional organization with more than 2,300 members working together to improve the metal forming and fabricating industry. Founded in 1970, FMA brings metal fabricators and fabricating equipment manufacturers together through technology councils, educational programs, networking events, and the FABTECH® International & AWS Welding Show including METALFORM. FMA also has a technology affiliate, the Tube & Pipe Association, Intl. (TPA), which focuses on the unique needs of companies engaged in tube and pipe producing and fabricating.
