Metcam, a fabricator of sheet metal components and assemblies for OEMs based in Alpharetta, Ga., has announced that it has been accepted as a Gold Level Partner with the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia.
The partnership fosters environmental leadership and recognizes superior environmental performance in companies. Gold Level Partners' environmental programs integrate robust pollution prevention efforts and community outreach.
Metcam began working in the state in 2004 by participating in the Department of Natural Resources’ Metal Finishing Initiative. They joined the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia as a charter member in 2004. In addition to public recognition for its sustainability efforts, the partnership provides Metcam with benefits from networking sessions with state regulators and other industry leaders to free assistance and training.
The Sustainability Division is a nonregulatory division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Since 1993 the Sustainability Division has provided free, confidential environmental technical assistance in the areas of pollution prevention, resource conservation, waste reduction, byproduct reuse, and recycling.
