ThyssenKrupp North America to close business unit

ThyssenKrupp North America has announced plans to close its ThyssenKrupp Access Corp. business unit, Grandview, Mo., by December. The unit manufactures stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, and home elevators.
The closing, which involves manufacturing facilities in Grandview and Roanoke, Ill., and offices in Boston, New York City, and Wilmington, N.C., will eliminate 110 jobs.
