GM to expand Pontiac plant

General Motors has announced plans to spend more than $30 million to renovate its Pontiac, Mich., metal stamping plant.
The plant, scheduled to close permanently following the automaker's 2009 bankruptcy, now is building parts for a variety of GM vehicles. The number of employees at the plant has doubled, and the company expects to hire more.
