The Metal Shop adds automation tower

October 9, 2012

The Metal Shop LLC, a custom fabrication shop in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., providing tradeshow exhibit industry products and short-run production, has added a new Mitsubishi automation tower to its Mitsubishi LVPlus II laser. The eight-shelf tower allows the company to run unattended jobs and helps supply flat parts to three Toyokoki press brakes.

The automation tower relieves a severe bottleneck caused by individual sheet loading. Companion software from NCell keeps track of what material is stored on particular shelves and manages job scheduling based on material and cutting conditions.
