Advanced Technical Finishing continues $10 million facility renovation - TheFabricator.com

Advanced Technical Finishing (ATF) is adding 16,000 sq. ft. to its surface treatment facility in Huntsville, Ala.

The $10 million renovation also includes an upgrade of the anodizing line equipment, allowing for increased capacity on Type I, II, and III anodizing, as well as installation of new electroless nickel lines and a titanium Type II and III finishing line. These additions will introduce military-grade coatings, currently available exclusively in the western U.S., to the East Coast.

The company also has renovated its 3,000-sq.-ft. painting facility with BR127 capabilities with large sandblasting booths; temperature- and humidity-controlled paint booths; walk-in curing ovens for paint and powder coating; a 70-ton, self-contained chiller unit; a DI water system for process lines that includes large reserve tanks; and an automatic Controlstik II rinse tank monitoring system that maintains water quality and provides water savings of up to 85 percent. A new ventilation system also has been added.

ATF provides plating, metal finishing, NDT, painting, and powder coating services to the aerospace, defense, commercial, medical, and transportation industries.
