Flexovit USA begins reconstruction of manufacturing facility in New York

Industrial abrasives manufacturer Flexovit USA Inc. will begin rebuilding its manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Angola, N.Y., in mid-December. Most of the 100,000-sq.-ft. facility collapsed from record snowfall that hit the western area of New York in November 2014, dumping 5 to 7 ft. of snow in 48 hours.

Since that event the company has resumed manufacturing of resin-reinforced grinding/cutting wheels and abrasive flap discs in undamaged sections of the property. It also has maintained sales and distribution services at its four distribution centers.

Rebuilding of the 62,000-sq.-ft. plant and warehouse will restore the company’s full production capabilities. Completion is expected in fall 2016.
