Ionbond demonstration center installs Vapormatt wet blasting machine

Ionbond, a provider of hard, wear-resistant, and low-friction coatings, has installed a Vapormatt Sabre wet blasting machine at its demonstration center in Switzerland.

The machine is designed for use by small- to medium-volume manufacturers, coating centers, and R&D facilities to help enhance tool life through edge preparation and precoating processes. The nozzle arrangement focuses blast guns on the critical faces and cutting edges to ensure total coverage of tools, offering edge radii within +/-5-micron tolerance of specification and an HF1 surface finish that helps improve coating adhesion.

The option to fit both Y- and X-axis nozzle arrangements gives the machine hybrid functionality, allowing processing of round shank tools, hobs, saw blades, and cutting inserts in one system.
