Mate Precision Tooling announces sales management promotions

Mate Precision Tooling, Anoka, Minn., has promoted Paul Sandberg to the position of vice president international sales. Sandberg assumed the position from Chet Ferger, who will continue on with the company in a newly created position of vice president of key account sales for North America.

Sandberg joined the company in 1998 as director of Asian sales headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and developed customer and dealer relationships throughout China, India, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Sandberg has relocated to the company's Minneapolis headquarters. He graduated from the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and began his career with locally based Timesavers, Inc., first as a manufacturing engineer, then western sales manager, and eventually, Asian sales manager.

Ferger is transitioning from vice president international sales after 11 years in that position. He was responsible for growing the company's international sales five-fold during this period.
