Pferd hires VP of operations

Pferd Inc., a manufacturer of abrasive products, cutting tools, industrial and maintenance brushes, and power tools in Leominster, Mass., has appointed Peter Skaalen as its vice president of operations. Based at the company’s Advance Brush facility in Milwaukee, he is responsible for directing all manufacturing and distribution operations for Pferd Advance in the U.S.

Skaalen previously worked as operations manager at Waukesha Metal Products, general manager at Slinger Mfg., director of operations at Huffy Sports, and plant engineer at John Deere. He has a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Stout.
