Schaffner Mfg. Co., Pittsburgh, a producer of custom metal finishing products, recently was named a winner of Masco Corporation's 2007 MASTAR awards. The Masco Supplier Team Recognition Program awards suppliers for product quality, on-time delivery, clear communication, effective follow-up, and competitive pricing.

Masco, Taylor Mich., is the parent company of Delta Faucet, a plumbing fixture manufacturer that Schaffner supplies with finishing and buffing products. Masco manufactures faucets, cabinets, architectural coatings, locks, and other consumer brand-name home improvement and building products. One of 12 MASTAR award winners, Schaffner has received the award twice.

The award is part of Masco's Supplier Collaborative Cost Reduction Evaluation (S.C.O.R.E.) Program. Under the initiative, Masco promotes mutual competitiveness with strategic suppliers in process improvement; process elimination; reformulations; capacity utilization; standardization; waste elimination; recycling; new-product development; and collaborative engineering.
