Future Products adds two CMMs

Future Products, a manufacturer of precision die tooling and machined components, has added new Zeiss Contura G2 AKTIV CMMs to its equipment at the headquarters in Clawson, Mich., and the Metal Punch facility in Cadillac, Mich.

The CMMs measure a variety of metal components with 0.0008-in. accuracy over 3 in. They feature variable accuracy and speed probing technology (VAST) for scanning, along with CAD-based Calypso software.

"The addition of the machines will greatly reduce the number of rejected parts while increasing throughput. To have the ability to decrease inspection bottleneck while measuring components to tight tolerances with high accuracy and repeatability is a significant enhancement to our business," said Irvin Swider, president.
