Future Products marks 50 years in business

Future Products, a manufacturer of precision die tooling and machined components, is celebrating its 50th year in business.

Irvin F. Swider purchased the business in April 1963, initially manufacturing punch and die buttons. Originally an eight-man operation, the company quickly added staff and expanded its Clawson, Mich., office. In 1973 it expanded its operations, adding a second plant (known as Metal Punch) in Cadillac, Mich. As the business grew, the company evolved its manufacturing focus to more specialized precision tooling work.

Today Swider serves as president. The company employs 90 people at its two locations.
