Hobart Institute offers welding training, certification for aerospace applications

Hobart Institute of Welding Technology (HIWT) has worked with the aerospace industry to customize classroom training modules, including purging techniques, heat input, and basic metallurgy of the superalloys used in the industry. It also conducts welder certifications in AWS QCWI and AWS D17.1, Specification for Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications.

HIWT conducts hands-on, specialized welding and brazing training for sheet and tubing using steel or aluminum alloys, stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, cobalt, and titanium. The flexible, knowledge- and skill-based training can be held at the institute or the participating company's facility.

HIWT maintains all hard copy certification test records backed up by an electronic database.
