Hypertherm names president, expands CFO's responsibilities

Hypertherm, a manufacturer of metal cutting systems in Hanover, N.H., has promoted Evan Smith, former vice president and general manager, to the position of president. Dick Couch, company founder, remains as CEO and continues to chair the company’s board of directors.

In addition, CFO Carey Chen has been named CFO and vice president, general manger of light industrial businesses. His expanded duties now include overseeing the company's air plasma and related product lines.

Smith has served as vice president and general manager since 2001. Chen was named CFO in 2006.
