Hypertherm releases 2013 Corporate Social Responsibility report

Hypertherm, a manufacturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems in Hanover, N.H., has released its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. The report, which measures the company’s progress against social and environmental goals, is available for download here.

The company’s CSR work supports its core values of providing for the well-being of its associates, communities, and the environment by donating time, expertise, financial grants, and products. Its community engagement efforts focus on education and the arts, health and wellness, food and shelter, and the environment.

Nearly 100 nonprofit organizations received financial support from the HOPE (Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors) Foundation. The report reveals that more than three-quarters of the company’s associates volunteered in the community in 2013. The 1,013 employees volunteering over the span of one year collectively served an average of 64 hours per workday.

Progress made in support of environmental goals included the diversion of 70,000 lbs. of waste from the landfill and the use of 100 percent renewable energy. The company also became an EPA Green Power Partner and qualified for the Green Power Leadership Club, one of only six companies nationwide from the industrial goods and services sector. Its newest facility in Lebanon, N.H., received LEED® Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the first building of its kind in the state.
