Industrial Magnetics celebrates 50 years in business

Industrial Magnetics Inc., Boyne City, Mich., is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2011 as a manufacturer of magnetic components and assemblies.

Established in 1961 in Detroit by Mike Stowe, the company began by serving the automotive markets with holding and fixturing magnets. The company expanded into other markets with magnetic separators, magnetic lifting devices, and conveying rail systems.

The company kicked off its 50th anniversary year with a $1.2 million capital equipment investment and an addition of manufacturing personnel.

The company is offering the following programs throughout 2011:

  • A trade-in/upgrade program allows customers to trade-in their old, manual, clean drawer magnet or ceramic Bullet® magnet for a credit on a new rare-earth model.
  • A free plant audit program offers a detailed cost and qualitative analysis at no charge that explains where magnetic products might increase production in a facility.
  • A free pull test kit is offered on qualifying orders resulting from the plant audit.
