Industrial Metal Supply launches 3-D laser cutting and fabrication division

Industrial Metal Supply Co., Sun Valley, Calif., has created a new business unit that will provide six-axis, 3-D laser cutting and fabrication services to the company's customer base of design and manufacturing firms, metal fabricators, welders, machine shops, and other businesses throughout Southern California and Arizona.

Martin J. Mechsner, president and CEO of the Small Manufacturers' Institute (SMI), president of Schober's Machine and Engineering (SME), and adjunct professor of technology and mechanical engineering at Cal State University, was appointed as general manager and chief engineer of the new Laser Services Group.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary, IMS is a multilocation metal service center and mill distributor.
