ITEC announces installation of world’s largest tube and open profile cutting machine

Innovative Tube Equipment Corp. (ITEC), Chicago, has announced the installation of a 24-in.-capacity TTM Laser S.p.A. FL600 3-D tube and open profile laser cutting machine with 60-ft. processing capacity at Steel and Pipe Supply, Manhattan, Kan. According to ITEC, the machine is the largest of its kind in the world.

Steel and Pipe Supply operates five service centers in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. In addition to steel distribution, the company offers steel processing, from cut-to-length, precision cutting, and shotblasting to finished assemblies, as well as flat roll processing including slitting and tempering.

The machine can cut 24-in. round and 16-in. square materials. It will be in daily operation cutting a variety of tubular and wide-flange products for applications from agricultural to architectural.
