ISG restarts Burns Harbor plate mill

International Steel Group Inc. (ISG) has announced the successful restart of its 110-inch plate mill, located at the company's Burns Harbor facility in Burns Harbor, Ind. ISG announced plans to restart the operation in December 2004 and has since hired and trained 65 new employees to operate the facility.

The mill makes steel plate for a variety of industries, including rail, construction, shipbuilding, oil and gas exploration and production, and machinery. The Plate Division also supplies armored plate products that are used to protect the U.S. Armed Forces.
