LA-CO appoints new president

LA-CO® Industries Inc./Markal Co., Elk Grove Village, Ill., a provider of specialty plumbing and HVAC chemicals, has named George Bowman as president, succeeding John Hardin, who has retired.

Bowman's responsibilities include collaborating with customers to develop product innovations; building relationships among the company's product engineers, customers, and suppliers; and providing strong leadership to employees.

Before joining the company, Bowman served as vice president of construction products for Miller Electric in Chicago. He also was president of Enerpac at Actuant Corp. and worked at General Electric Industrial Systems for 11 years in various sales, engineering, and business leadership roles.

He received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Minnesota.
