TRUMPF, Jenoptik form joint venture

TRUMPF Inc., Farmington, Conn., a manufacturer of fabricating machines and laser systems, has announced that the TRUMPF Group, Ditzingen, Germany, and Jenoptik AG, Jena, Germany, intend to bundle their new laser component activities, with each have a 50 percent share of JT Optical Engine GmbH + Co. KG.

With headquarters in Jena and 20 staff members, the joint-venture company requires antitrust approval. The joint-venture company will develop, produce, and sell optical modules—known as optical engines—for fiber-optic lasers to third parties internationally and supply TRUMPF and Jenoptik.
