Airgas Inc., Radnor, Pa., has named Dan Tatro as president of Airgas Nor Pac and Doug Jones as his replacement as president of Airgas Intermountain, two of 13 regional distribution companies. It has also announced the acquisition of Byrne Specialty Gases Inc., Seattle.

Tatro spent six years at two of the original hub companies merged to create Airgas Nor Pac. Nor Pac comprises more than 45 locations in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, western Canada, and on Sakhalin Island in Russia. He joined the company in 1989 with the acquisition of G.S. Parsons, San Diego.

Jones joined the company in 1989 and went on to manage medical and industrial gas sales before becoming the region's director of marketing in 1998. He became vice president of sales and marketing in 2001.

The acquired operations of Byrne Specialty Gases, including two facilities in Seattle and Vancouver, Wash., employ 45 associates. Airgas now runs the business as a dedicated unit within Nor Pac focused on specialty gases and life science sectors in the Northwest.
