Bystronic names president, North American operations

Bystronic Inc. has announced the promotion of Michael Zakrzewski to president of Bystronic Inc., the North American subsidiary of the Bystronic Group. Effective Jan. 1, 2007, Zakrzewski is responsible for all of the company's activities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Zakrzewski joined the company in 2001 and has served as executive vice president and general manager. A member of Bystronic Group Management, he will continue to head the North American Market Region, reporting directly to Ferdi Toengi, CEO of the Bystronic Group.

With more than 20 years' industry experience, Zakrzewski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in applied behavioral sciences from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. in management from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Zakrzewski succeeds former President Ulrich Troesch. Instrumental in establishing the Bystronic organization in North America, Troesch has been with the company for 35 years and will continue to serve as a member of Group Management and as chairman of Bystronic Inc.
