EB Industries expands capabilities with high-speed 3-D laser cutting

EB Industries, a provider of electron beam and laser welding services in Farmingdale, N.Y., has expanded its laser cutting capabilities by installing a TRUMPF TruLaser Cell 3000 with a TruDisk 4001 laser.

The 5-axis laser machine for 2-D and 3-D cutting and welding operations has advanced automation that helps simplify programming and setup. The disk laser uses an yttrium-aluminum garnet disk as the laser medium and a diode laser pump. It is suitable for use on many metals, including highly reflective materials such as copper and brass.

The system can handle tasks from sheet metal cutting, brazing, and welding to 3-D part formation to additive manufacturing.
