Ermaksan introduces fiber laser, hybrid press brake at open house

Ermaksan held an open house Feb. 29-March 1 at its new plant in Bursa, Turkey, to introduce the Fibermak fiber laser cutting machine and the Evo II hybrid press brake. Two hundred guests from 90 companies in 40 countries attended the event.
According to comments at the event from Ahmet Ozkayan, managing director and board member with Ermaksan, the fiber laser machine features strong design, ultralow energy consumption, high-speed cutting capacity, zero maintenance cost, and the ability to cut highly reflective nonferrous materials. He said the hybrid press brake, a result of two years of R&D, provides 60 percent lower energy consumption and 80 percent lower oil usage than typical press brakes. The machine has a closed-circuit servo-hydraulic system that requires no maintenance and maintains precision at high speeds, Ozkayan said.
Ozkayan also discussed the company's role in the regional and economic development of Turkey and Europe. "Our many projects followed by our 40 expert engineers in the R&D department have been approved by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and TTGV (Technology Development Foundation of Turkey), and our aim is to build a new structure for our R&D center," he said.
"We have the capacity for production in many different fields, such as the defense and renewable energy industries. Our aim is to expand our trade capacity and play a leader role in global industry. In addition to production of high-tech machines, software, and electronic system integrated products, we are working on projects for renewable energy industries like wind and solar energy," Ozkayan explained.
Ermaksan produces fiber and CO2 laser cutting machines, plasma cutting machines, punch presses, press brakes, and guillotine shears. The company exports 80 percent of its production to more than 70 countries under the Ermak brand name. Its branch office in Chicago provides marketing, sales, and service to the North American market.
