EVS Metal acquires Amada laser cutting system for New Hampshire facility

Riverdale, N.J.-based metal fabrication, machining, and finishing shop EVS Metal Inc. has added an Amada FOM2 3015 NT RI laser cutting system with rotary index to its manufacturing facility in New Hampshire.

According to the company, the laser offers expanded process range, high-speed cutting head, and high accuracy and stability for making detailed cuts in a large number of frames requested by EVS customers. The rotary index gives the laser the power and speed to cut thick materials, including a variety of tubing. The cutting head’s location close to the chuck minimizes the dead zone, allowing bowed pipe or tube to be cut from end to end without the use of vibration.

The laser can process almost any shape, from round or square to C-channel and angle iron; the included Dr. ABE Tube software helps simplify the fabrication of complex tubular structures for welding.
