EVS Metal adds fiber laser cutting system to New Jersey facility

Precision metal fabricator EVS Metal Inc. has acquired an Amada LCG 3015 AJ fiber laser for its Riverdale, N.J., facility. The machine features a high-speed cutting head, a helical rack-and-pinion drive system, an AMNC 3i Control touchscreen, and a sectionalized dust collection system.

According to the company, the system was designed to handle high-speed, high-precision metal fabrication operations, improving edge quality and broadening the scope of material, including copper and brass, that can be processed at the facility.

The machine runs on one-third of the electricity required by the same-wattage CO2 laser system, and it is three times more efficient with the electricity it does use, the manufacturer reports.
